Most likely your browser cannot pass the link to Sync for some reason.
Adding a share to Sync by opening a link is impossible also when Sync is accessed via WebUI. In this case also use the workaround below.
As a workaround try pasting the link to Sync directly via the menu: "+" > "Enter a key or link" and entering the copied link there.
Things to try
- Browser security settings.
Try opening the link is some other browser. If it works in other browsers - check security settings, make sure that there are no plugins, add-ons that might be blocking Sync’s links.
- Operating system associations
Check registry keys:
Your PC should have these two keys:
1. HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\rslsync\shell\open\command ""C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\Resilio Sync\Resilio Sync.exe" /ADDURL "%1""
2. HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\rslsync\DefaultIcon "C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Resilio Sync\Resilio Sync.exe" /ADDURL"%0"
- Google Chrome settings
If you use Google Chrome, quit Chrome and go to
Win7: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data
MacOS: "~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/"
Open file Local State in a text editor and search for 'rslsync:true' or ''rslsync:false' Delete this line, save and close the text file.
Now relaunch Chrome and try the link again.
